China Glaze Nail Polish Swatches and Impression

From L-R: White On White, Liquid Leather, Platinum Silver, Nova, Bridezilla

Now I think nail polish is the perfect accessory to finish of any outfit and because of this, nail polish has a small spot in my heart. I have a very large collection of nail polish, sadly hidden away in a massive hat box.

For christmas, I added to this collection. I received 5 colours from a China Glaze range that I now forget the name of. They are a white, black, sheer pink, silver and a glitter. All of these colours are amazing. The silver is crazy opaque and you only really need one coat of it. The white is also super opaque too, but two coats is needed for this to make it super white. The pink is nice and sheer, which is great when I don't really want much on my nails. It has a slight glitter reflect in it which is amazing. The glitter is a silver sparkle which coats the nails in so much glitter it's basically opaque. I paired this with the silver polish underneath, but I don't think it's even necessary.

First up we have Liquid Leather. This colour was super opaque after about 3 coats. It's also super shiny. This was taken without a top coat on.

Secondly is Bridezilla. As you can see, it's a very sheer shade that only adds a slight hint of colour and sparkle.

This is my favourite shade in the collection. Platinum Silver was opaque after the first coat but you see it here with two coats.

This last one shows both White on White and Nova. I did this because I never wore the glitter on it's own. The white was fully opaque after two coats. Nova was on top of Platinum Silver and has two coats of glitter.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Wellington Birthday Haul Part 1!

My birthday was recently and the present I got from my beloved was a massive shopping trip. For this massive shop, we went to wellington. The plan was to go to the zoo and then do some shopping then go home, but when we actually got to Wellington, the weather had done a complete 180, going from sunny and warm to rainy and dreadful. So because of this, we just went to Queensgate in Lower Hutt.

This has to be my favourite mall in the lower North Island. Not only is it massive, but Starbucks is only across the road. Starbucks will always be my favourite cafe, always. I wish there was one where I lived.

So aside from spending money at Starbucks, I spent the rest on clothes pretty much. The first thing I bought was actually three pairs of tights. They were on a 3 for $10 special at Equip. I got a plain 80 denier tight, then I got a super thick pair that has a kind of flowery pattern on it and then I got a polka dot pair. After these, I got another pair from Glassons. These were just a basic pair of suspender tights as I needed new ones because my old ones all have holes and ladders in them. I then bought 3 dresses . One from Mirrou (the black one) and 2 from ValleyGirl. The 2 from ValleyGirl are a size 10 and were $15.99 each. The dress from Mirrou was a size large and was on sale for about $20 I think. We went back to Glassons after that and I bought the boots. They are a size 8 (as I'm a 7.5 so I can chop and change between 7s and 8s comfortably.) and were $60. I've had my eye on these boots for months and months so I decided to take the plunge and buy them. While buying the boots, I couldn't help but to grab their buy one get one free nail polishes. I got a bright neon orange and a pretty pastel pink.

There's this one shop in Queensgate that does piercings and sells all sorts of beauty products and stuff which is where I picked up my Beauty Blender dupe. It was $7 and works amazing. I'll do a more in depth review on it as I've only used it a couple of times and not on all of my cream/liquid products.

I think thats all I got in this trip. There will be a part two as we went a few days before my birthday and then the day after as well.

A lookbook and swatch post will be coming up once I've posted Part Two, so look out for that on Saturday!

Nails of the month #2

Normally when I get my nails done, I've been planning it since the last time I saw Sherie, so normally for about a month. This time, I was still trying to figure out how I wanted my nails done as I worked.

I went straight to Sherie's after work with an idea of what I wanted. I was gonna get three nails in solid black, one in a colour (I hadn't decided yet) and one in solid glitter.

Now as you can see from the photo, this is not what happened. As Sherie was applying the acrylic I fell in love with the cover pink. Its super sparkly and glittery. I was then debating to leave it at that and just rock around with super sparkly plain nails. But then I had also been thinking of doing this design as it's such a great alternative  to the classic French design.

I suppose I did still keep to what I had in mind originally with the black, colour and glitter. It just turned out a little different. And of course I ended up choosing pink again. I just love it too much to not have at least one pink nail.

I'm not sure what gel polish she used on the black nail, but I know the pink was an OPI colour. Overall the process took about an hour this time. I don't usually get acrylic, I'm a gel girl.

Until next time!
